Because we grow the majority of the potatoes we supply ourselves, we have a close understanding of the crop from planting through to delivery.
We monitor conditions throughout the growing season and select varieties and crops with our customers’ needs in mind. When our own supply needs supplementing, we work with trusted local growers and, when necessary, further afield to maintain continuity.
This gives us the flexibility to adapt to the season while maintaining the consistent supply our customers have relied on for generations.

What began with Lionel Smith and his sons has grown through three generations into the potato-growing and supply business we run today.
As the agricultural landscape changed, we increasingly focused on supplying potatoes to the local fish & chip trade, building the long-standing relationships that remain at the heart of the business today.

Based in Woodnesborough, near Sandwich, we deliver directly to fish & chip shops and other establishments throughout East Kent and surrounding areas.
